Anyone else get overwhelmed by your bookkeeping?

🤣🤣🤣 That’s a stupid question, isn’t it? Of course you get overwhelmed by it! Because:

1) Why would you be here otherwise? and

2) If even I get overwhelmed by bookkeeping, how could someone NOT trained in bookkeeping not get overwhelmed?

I don’t know about YOU, but I always feel better when I have a list to work from.

Is it perfect? No! Because businesses are like snowflakes, ❄️ no two are alike. Some of these won’t apply to you; I might be missing some key elements crucial to your business; and some of these tasks need to be done in a different frequency.

Full transparency, I do everything for my business books once a month – categorizing, reconciling, paying contractors, journal entries – and I rarely touch them in between. But you have different volumes, different requirements like sales tax or invoicing, etc.

That’s why the checklist is printable – so you can write ALLLL over it. I recommend doing this not just to track what needs to be changed, but to take notes (use sticky notes if you have a lot to write) on EXACTLY how to do the things you want to do. This will:

  1. Help you going forward by not having to reinvent the wheel so much, which reduces overwhelm!!
  2. Help an employee or bookkeeper take over doing your books when you so happily get to outsource
